Pokie playroom under fire

VICTORIA, Australia -- Opposition MP's have cried foul over government approval for a pokie venue in Melbourne that includes a children's playroom, ABC reported.

The room will be sound proof and viewable from the poker machines, the report said.

The plans received harsh criticism from the opposition, who insist exposure to poker machines at a young age is detrimental, while the gambling regulator said it was preferable to have children properly supervised rather than left unattended elsewhere, ABC reported.
